Internet Technology.  Useful for many things. Like looking something up, when I was a kid, if we had to look something up, we had to get a book at the library. Take the book home, open the book, read the book until we found what we were supposed to look up.

It was not proper to copy word for word out of the book, we had to put what was in the book in our own words.  Which totally negated the guy who wrote the book in the first place. If we were so smart as to be able to put into words what we didn’t know anything about, we wouldn’t have needed to go the library and get the stupid book in the first place! But I digress!

I am writing about practical aspects of internet usage today.

E-mail, very good service that we have now thanks to the internet. But not without it’s share of problems which I will address later on.

The Weather Channel online, good if you have Dish Network and no longer get the local forcast on your HD TV! That is one thing I wish we still had. But I don’t miss the 120 dollar cable bill!

24 hour news! I get it when it happens. Even though they don’t really have anything to report cause it just happened. It is a good feeling when you see that “BREAKING NEWS!” line, see you just got that adreneline rush too didn’t you?

How about file sharing, Foldershare, Etc. Those things are great, when I was a kid, if we wanted to listen to some songs that a friend had we had to go to his house and he had to play them on his stereo, in his room, away from his mom and dad! They were creepy ok!

But I guess what has me most disappointed about the internet is all the crap like internet porn! All this great technology, that computer professionals (geeks)have been working on for a long, long time, and all you see are dating web-sites and porn!

It’s even on non porn sites as ads, so that we can use the non porn sites for free! Is that ok? I don’t think so.  I should not have to see banners flashing large breasted women who want to go out with me. (I AM A MARRIED MAN Thanks) just so I can blog about banners with large breasted women! Thank Goodness for DSOR!

Anyway, I just felt the need to write this down.  This and the other problematic thing about the internet. E-mail forwards.

Why do some people who e-mail, feel the need to forward me e-mails about things that other people sent them as forwards when they are too backward to send me an e-mail that they themselves wrote? Why not e-mail me and ask me how I am doing? Shoot me a note to say HI! Ask me an important musical question that they know only I can answer! Because that would take valuable time away from them bidding on knick knacks on Ebay, so they can turn around and sell them at the stupid flee market! I know people who do this! Buy a hundred peices of antique silverware for $100.00 and sell it at the flee market for $20.00! I am CONFUSED!

Well that’s ok, I do crazy things too. For instance; if you forward me an e-mail about Bill Gates giving me money for every e-mail I send, I will reply back to you and everyone you sent the e-mail to that you are not thinking with either side of your brain! BILL GATES ISN’T GONNA GIVE US ANYTHING! We bought a computer with his operating system in it and even that is still his! He can come and take it back any time he wants!
